Newbie Cartographer :D
Hey! Recently I have taken interest on the Kind of a Big Deal title for my ranger. Seeing I'm not very weathly I cant get the Sweet Tooth Title or the Drunknard one. So I'm going for Protector and Cartographer titles. (Currently I'm 2/5 with 2 Protectir titles).
Now my question for your is which continent do oyu think is the easiest to begin cartographing on. Right now I'm leaning towards Elona or Cantha because they seem smaller. So I was just wondering which one you think. My ranger is Tyrian though so I know he can't get the Canthan tutorial place or the 1-10 Arena. Will that make cartography impossible? For Elona, does the Realm of Torment count? It looks awfully hard seeing there isn't a "pure map" So which continent do you recommend? Was this one the easiest for you? How many hours did it take you? Thanks |

elona is easy i think and with every char from every continent you can explore every map because there is a range of tolerance of about 2 percent so you neednt explore tut in cantha or arenas in tyria

Yeah, Elona is pretty easy, as is Cantha. I am having trouble with Tyria, though I have heard since it is so big that you can get 100% without even reaching some of the harder areas, like Dreadnought's Rift. I know there are plenty of Cartographers guides on this site, search for those and check them out.

Well, Elona is probably the easiest to map. You don't have to map the Realm of Torment. It doesn't count towards the Cartographer title. All of the mappable areas in Elona are all pretty square and straight-forward to map.
Cantha gets annoying with all the faction requirements and stuff. You have to do the "Befriending" quests to explore everything, and that could take a while. A good number of Canthan bosses are ridicuously overpowered, too, which can make it a little challenging at times. Tyria is easy to map if you start from nothing, but extremely annoying to map if you've already gone through it without going for the Cartographer title. You can get 100% of Tyria half-way into the Abaddon's Mouth (second last mission), but if you've already gone through once before, it could take you weeks to find all the nooks and crannies. |

Ok, I'm going to do Elona then. About how long does it take? I'm currently at 55% =P

If you do it systematically - hit each area hard once, and keep track of where you've been - you should be able to get it in a couple of weeks, depending on how much running you do and how much time you spend in game.
Good luck and have fun! |

How long it takes is entirely up to you. How long do you play each day? How organized are you? How dedicated are you? etc.

The only slight slowndown for Elona is needing to complete the Mission where you get to control the worms, once that is done the rest of the desert is then mappable.
